Now that Focus has gradually upgraded its full-suspension e-mountainbikes to the latest generation of Bosch Performance CX has now followed suit with the hardtail model. The Jarifa² is positioned as a sporty e-mountainbike for newcomers, which is designed to tackle easy trails as well as everyday rides and forest road tours. Focus promises a combination of trail performance and suitability for everyday use. The bike utilises a relaxed seating and riding position for more safety on your first excursions on the trail. The aluminium hardtail is naturally priced below the Bosch fullys from Focus. It starts at 2799 euros.
All Jarifa² models come with a 120mm suspension fork from SR Suntour and a dropper seat post. The Shimano 4-piston brakes on all variants should also ensure riding safety and off-road suitability. Schwalbe's Smart Sam tyres, with their mix of traction and good rolling characteristics, are designed to combine everyday suitability with light off-road strength.
The Jarifa² rolls on 29er wheels, but the XS size gets 27.5-inch wheels. This adaptation is intended to offer smaller riders a better fit. Despite the more compact design, the large 800 watt-hour battery also fits into the frame.
The Jarifa² 6.7 entry-level model uses a motor from the Performance Line from Bosch with 75 Nm maximum torque and up to 600 watts of power. The 6.7 X and 6.8 models are equipped with the more powerful Performance Line CX. Following the latest update, the top mid-motor delivers up to 100 Nm of torque and a peak power of 750 watts.
All frame sizes can accommodate batteries with a capacity of up to 800 Wh. As with many Bosch bikes, different batteries fit into the down tube. Powertube 600 or Powertube 800 and the Bosch Range Extender optionally extends the capacity by another 250 Wh. For sizes M, L and XL, the DualBattery System enables a total capacity of 1600 Wh.
The Jarifa² can be fitted with a pannier rack and mudguards. The new pannier rack is MIK HD certified and approved for up to 27 kilos. Alternatively, a special axle enables operation with trailers. Mounting points for lights and a kickstand extend the bike's suitability for everyday use. Focus advertises the bike for trips from the office to the gym or for weekend excursions for hiking and trail running.
The Jarifa² comes in three equipment variants from 2799, 3199 or 3699 euros. There are two different battery variants to choose from in each case. The entry-level Jarifa² 6.7 model with the weaker Performance Line motor is available with 540 or 600 Wh (2799, 2999 euros), while the 6.7 X (3199 or 3499 euros) and 6.8 (3699 or 3999 euros) models offer a choice between 600 and 800 watt hours.
