EMTB test winner from 2/19: the Mondraker Prime+
Very smooth running, high-quality wheels and a good fork: The Mondraker Prime+ for € 2999 won the test in our comparison test of E-MTB hardtails for 2019.

Long front triangle (reach), slack head angle, short stub stem - the innovative Spanish forge Mondraker introduced the so-called forward geometry years ago and was thus the pioneer of modern trail geometry, so to speak. The advantages are obvious: length is key, and nothing is smoother, safer and more stable at high speeds than a long reach. This is also the case with the Prime+. You roll stoically over hill and dale on the thick balloon tyres. On steep descents, the short stub stem brings the centre of gravity to the rear, so you won't feel like you're going to roll over on this bike. But if you're looking for playful, manoeuvrable handling, you're in the wrong place - you can't have everything. The Spanish bike is well equipped - for example, the DT Swiss system wheels, the capable fork and the 203 millimetre front brake discs, which are unusual in this E-MTB category.

Test summary of the Mondraker Prime+:

The Mondraker Prime+ impresses with its very smooth ride. The equipment also makes the e-hardtail suitable for tough off-road use.
