E-mountain bike Technibike Votaro HT on test
With the Technibike Votaro HT, we have the debut model of the German brand Technibike in our individual test. Is the hardtail convincing?

The e-bike boom is sprouting new brands from the ground. One of these is Technibike, which is celebrating its premiere this year with a fully and a hardtail. In contrast to many other newcomers, Technibike knows its stuff, which is clear from the sensible equipment. A good suspension fork with 120 millimetres of travel, solid brakes, grippy tyres, wide handlebars - the Votaro HT is fully suitable for off-road riding and does not shy away from long tours. The riding position is moderate, you sit in a central position and can pedal efficiently. The bike is also balanced and fun to ride downhill. Even though it is not a designated trail bike, it is perfectly equipped for off-road excursions thanks to the appropriate add-on parts.

At the heart of the bike: The Votaro HT relies on the Continental drive, which is based on the hardware of Brose's Drive T motor. As is typical for Brose, the bike runs pleasantly quietly, the riding experience is very natural and the pedalling resistance is low beyond 25 km/h. However, if you are used to a Shimano or Bosch drive and like to ride in high support levels, you will miss some of the maximum thrust. On the other hand, the Tourer shines with a very good reach height. The display offers numerous bike computer functions, including wattage measurement and cadence, and can be easily paired with a mobile phone via Bluetooth. The control unit is compact and can be positioned very close to the handlebar. However, the rubber ring attachment is not completely twist-proof. For the time being, Technibike bikes are only available through direct online sales.

Conclusion on the Technibike Votaro HT

Well-balanced hardtail with good equipment. With the Continental drive, the bike appeals primarily to tourers for whom a high reach and natural riding feel are more important than maximum power.
