Decathlon recalls Rockrider hardtails
The French outdoor discounter Decathlon is recalling two hardtails from its own brand B'Twin. The frame of the MTB Rockrider 540 and MTB Rockrider 520 models may break.

As part of the quality assurance process, the developers of Decathlon noticed a frame breakage on a hardtail frame, which could lead to accidents. Specifically, these are two inexpensive MTB models with a retail price of 300 and 460 euros respectively:

These Decathlon bikes are affected by the recall:

MTB ROCKRIDER 540 Colour: Grey, Size: XL (1864085)
MTB ROCKRIDER 540 Colour: Grey, Size: M (1864082)
MTB ROCKRIDER 520 colour: Black, size: M (1864811)
MTB ROCKRIDER 520 colour: Navy blue, size: M (2002103)

Only mountain bikes sold between 7 July and 18 December 2017 are affected. Owners can contact any Decathlon shop. The manufacturer is offering a free exchange for an identical model or a refund. Immediately after B'Twin's report, all customers who bought the product in the past were informed. There have been no accidents so far. Affected bicycles should not be used under any circumstances. B'Twin - Decathlon's own brand - offers a lifetime guarantee on its bikes and therefore on the frame, stems, handlebars and rigid forks.
