Race-oriented, lightweight aluminium hardtail with very good equipment and beautiful workmanship.
With its multi-butted aluminium frame and lightweight add-on parts, the Reaction is clearly a race bike. Fully equipped with bar ends and details such as a torsion-resistant Shimano Pressfit bottom bracket, the Cube scores particularly well in the uphill category. Downhill, the bar ends reduce the available handlebar width to just 550 millimetres, to the detriment of handling. From Shimano XT and Formula R1 to the Rock Shox SID, the equipment marks the top of the test field.

TUNING TIP: retrofit wider handlebars.
