With its low front end, the Corratec cuts a fine figure on the climbs, but the short stem means you're more likely to sit upright.

Downhill, the low centre of gravity is pleasing, but the X-Vert reaches its limits quite early on. The narrow 2.2 tyres quickly feel overwhelmed, and the Manitou suspension fork can't keep up with the competition from Rock Shox or Fox. Good: the 725 mm wide handlebar. Unfortunately, the overall appearance suffers from the tangled cable braid. Less would be more - in our opinion, the locking function of the fork is unnecessary. The Bosch motor drives the X-Vert with a proven gear ratio, the large 500 Wh battery achieves 1440 metres of altitude in the range test. A good value. Conclusion: The X-Vert relies on the powerful Bosch CX drive and feels more comfortable going uphill than downhill. It's mainly the fork and tyres that spoil the otherwise good overall picture.
