Carver offers the lightest frame, a decent Suntour suspension fork and, with the Tektro Auriga, a very decent fully hydraulic disc brake. On the other hand, the drivetrain has been skimped on: only 24 gears, low Shimano Acera level. The tyres are narrow and yet extremely heavy (860 grams each), as are the wheels and the overall weight. On the test lap, the riding characteristics are nevertheless good (well-designed cockpit with wide handlebars), you feel like you're on a "real" mountain bike, the fork provides a certain degree of riding stability downhill.
CONCLUSIONCarver is one of the best bikes in this price range and is also suitable for off-road use. A tyre change reduces the weight by 500 grams!
