High-quality frame, above-average bike - with the tested Canyon Grand Canyon AL 6.0 hardtail you can easily stand on the starting line.

The 11.5-kilo lightweight impressively demonstrates how much fun you can have with a bike for 1000 euros. The basis is laid by the most expensive (699 euros), lightest (1610 grams), most comfortable and highest quality frame in the test: a butted head tube, post mount and internally routed cables set the black anodised aluminium frame apart from the Asian monotony. The sporty to racing-style riding position ensured effective climbing even on the steep ramps of our test lap, while the wide 680 cm cockpit and Rock Shox's Reba SL fork make downhill riding fun. The 70-degree steering angle steers with confidence. This season is better than last year: instead of the SRAM-Shimano mix, you shift with a thoroughbred 30-speed SLX groupset and XT rear derailleur.

Canyon sets itself apart from the off-the-shelf range with a high-quality frame. The cable routing is particularly pleasing. | t.Photo: UnbekanntCanyon sets itself apart from the off-the-shelf range with a high-quality frame. The cable routing is particularly pleasing. | t.
