It's unbelievable how much a low weight in combination with a drive-orientated geometry makes itself felt. The Cannondale gives everyone fast legs.

The scales in our test lab stop at a slim 8.5 kilograms without pedals. A value that takes the breath away even for die-hard gram fans. Mind you, this is for a production bike suitable for racing in size L and not just for posting on the relevant internet forums. Although Cannondale has the second heaviest frame on the tyres at 1331 grams, the total weight is almost 1.5 kilograms less than the Rocky Mountain. How is that possible? The solution is system integration. A 2x Cannondale crank with oversize "BB30" ceramic bottom bracket (615 g) and the super-light "Lefty Carbon SL2" fork reduce the weight. In addition, the "Taurine" is fitted with borderline narrow but extremely good rolling "Furious Fred" tyres. A choice that worked, at least in the dry conditions on our racetrack in the Palatinate, but which severely limits the range of use. The unanimous opinion of the testers is that you can race with this bike without additional tuning measures. The fast lap times confirm this gut feeling. Despite the long top tube, the geometry and handling are perfect. Just sit on it and step on the gas. In combination with the "Lefty" fork, the frame forms a precise steering unit without being uncomfortable. A larger disc on the rear wheel would be advisable for use beyond the race tracks in the low mountain ranges.

CONCLUSIONS: It's unbelievable how much a low weight in combination with a drive-orientated geometry makes itself felt. The Cannondale gives everyone fast legs.
