Test rider Florian Vogel was very excited to get on the future bike of competitor Julien Absalon. He returned with a smile on his face: a sporty, pleasant geometry, the sensible equipment and the noticeable comfort ennoble the BMC as a first-class racer. Confirmation comes from the laboratory: with a comfort value of 8.35 mm, the carbon 29er sets a new benchmark. The symbiosis of seat stay design and slim seat post is the decisive factor. The short stem and the 690 mm handlebar give the Teamelite TE01 playful handling. This was even enough for tester Jochen to set the fastest time. We only found two faults with the equipment: the Onza tyres offer little lateral support and the handlebar remote for the fork lockout is missing. The X0 crank with 38/24 teeth, on the other hand, offers a perfect range. The Easton wheels match the fast, stylish impression of the BMC 29er.
ConclusionJulien Absalon will be delighted: top race bike with playful handling, clever equipment and plenty of comfort for the rider.
