The Team Elite 01 shines with its high-quality frame and balanced geometry. The riding characteristics are convincing. However, there are lighter candidates.

Swiss precision work in carbon fibre with an unmistakable silhouette. It is not a novelty that Switzerland attaches great importance to clean workmanship. True to this maxim, the Team Elite 01 shines from a single mould. BMC's special feature, which is not just visual, is the so-called iSC construction (integrated Skeleton Concept). By splitting the top tube in front of the junction point on the seat tube, the forces should be better distributed. At 1384 grams, the focus is more on aesthetics and durability than on weight records. In Germany, the Team Elite 01 is only available as a € 1999 frame set. Our test bike had a Shimano XT/SRAM X.0 mix, Avid Elixir CR brakes, Fox fork and Easton components. Functional, but not yet fully utilised in terms of lightweight construction. Despite weighing 10.05 kilograms, the BMC has light-footed handling and an instantly comfortable geometry. With a 69.5 steering angle, the bike is a successful compromise between composure and agility. On descents, you would wish for a wider handlebar. Thanks to the slightly offset seat post, the rather slack seat angle doesn't cause any problems.

CONCLUSIONS: The Team Elite 01 shines with its high-quality frame and balanced geometry. The riding characteristics are convincing. However, there are lighter candidates.
