Bergamont Platoon 5.1
An averagely equipped entry-level model that is neither too touring nor too racing orientated.

The "racing geometry" promised on the homepage cannot be confirmed by the testers, but there is no doubt that the Platoon 5.1 is in the top third of the field in terms of riding impression. Thanks to the 68.5 degree flat steering angle, the 650 cockpit is safe and controlled on technical terrain. After the test lap, all riders were surprised by the progressive and sensitive Enix suspension fork from X-Fusion. Compared to the Recon and Epicon, we liked the X-Fusion much better. The Platoon doesn't stand out in terms of shifting, wheels and brakes. Full-length cable sleeves and a neoprene chainstay protector (not pictured) round off the overall positive impression of the stiff Platoon frame (STW value: 63.87).

Conclusion: An averagely equipped entry-level model that is neither too touring nor too racing orientated.

+ Balanced geometry and good riding impression

+ Good suspension fork

- Cheap tyres
