The Blackhill Evo from Fuji is aimed at trail and touring bikers: the "normal" version has 29-inch wheels and offers 120 millimetres of suspension travel. The LT ("long travel") model comes with 150 millimetre suspension and wide 27.5 inch plus tyres. Both bikes are powered by the Bosch Performance CX motor. This is fuelled by the new Powertube battery, which can be stylishly integrated into the down tube.
Both model series are available in sizes M, L and XL. The geometries of the two models are very similar and point towards the touring sector: the Blackhill 29er has a 67 degree head angle, a reach in L of 447 mm and 486 millimetre long chainstays. Although the LT version is intended to be more of a downhill bike, the steering angle is half a degree steeper. The chainstays are also quite long at 480 millimetres due to the large Bosch motor. The new Fuji e-MTBs can be viewed on the Eurobike 2017 in Hall B2.
The top model, which costs 4800 euros, has Fox Performance suspension and a wide-range Shimano XT electronic drivetrain. A Kindshock seatpost and Shimano XT brakes complete the package. In the 500 euro cheaper model, a Rock Shox suspension system controls the 120 millimetres of suspension travel. Here, the Shimano Deore groupset changes the ten gears, but the buyer has to do without a dropper post.
The top model of the LT version also offers Fox Performance suspension and a Shimano XT drivetrain. For 4900 euros, the customer also gets XT brakes and a Vario seatpost from Kindshock. The 600 euro cheaper model has Rock Shox suspension and a ten-speed Deore drivetrain. Here, too, you have to do without a dropper post.
