From 8 March: Bicycle shops are allowed to reopen
From 8 March, there will be a gradual easing of the current coronavirus measures. If the incidence values are below 50, bike shops will be allowed to reopen and biking in small groups will be permitted.

The federal and state governments agreed on 3 March in its resolution agreed to extend the lockdown until 28 March 2021, but also decided to ease restrictions depending on incidence figures. With a stable 7-day incidence of less than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, there will be initial relaxations, which will then be extended from values below the 50 mark. This means that bike shops and bike shops - in addition to their workshops - can from 8 March also the sales area under strict hygiene measures Reopen. Provided that the Incidence in the district or city is below 50 and the number of customers in the shop is limited (one customer per 10 square metres for the first 800 square metres of retail space and one for every additional 20 square metres). With an incidence value between 50 and 100 bike shops can open for customers with an appointment ("click and meet"). One customer per 40 square metres.

However, if the value in the district or region rises above the 100 mark, the coronavirus measures that were in place until 7 March will apply to stationary retailers and therefore also to bike shops. For bike shops, this means that they can only offer a workshop service and sell bikes via "click and collect" or a delivery service.

Group biking and junior training

Exercise is also being relaxed with a stable 7-day incidence of under 50. From 8 March, "contact-free Sport in small groups of a maximum of ten people in the outdoor area" is possible. This means that mountain biking with your mates or road cycling in a group is then permitted again. However, if the 7-day incidence is between 50 and 100, the following applies: "Individual sport with a maximum of five people from two households." There is also good news for MTB clubs that offer junior training for children and young people. Because as the DOSB also writes the "Sport in groups of up to 20 children up to 14 years" will be possible again from 8 March - as long as the incidence value is below 100. Smaller events with a maximum of 50 participants - such as local MTB races - can be held again from 5 April at the earliest (incidence below 50).
