The first E-MTB with a carbon rear triangle, a permanently installed battery for the first time and the Kiox 400C display for the first time: with the lightweight Radon Recap E-MTB, the direct-to-consumer company from Grafschaft is moving away from its usual line and unveiling a new display for the first time. EMTB Trailcamp in Kaltern a particularly sporty full-power bike.
The new Radon Recap is fitted with 29-inch wheels and offers 150/145 millimetres of travel. The top model with a thick Float X2 shock and Gravity rear tyre weighs just under 22 kilos with 600 watt hours permanently integrated. The entry-level models should be even lighter. For comparison: That's about as much as a Santa Cruz Vala or a Transition Regulator CX - both in significantly higher price ranges.
Radon has trimmed the geometry of the Recap a little for sport. The seat angle is slightly steeper at 77 degrees and the head angle is slightly slacker at 64.2 degrees compared to the Render, for example. The chainstays are slightly shorter at 455. However, Radon doesn't go too extreme. If you want it even wilder, you can help it along with an angled headset for a 63 degree head angle.
The new Radon Recap is available in three equipment variants from just 4999 euros. Even the entry-level Recap 8.0 model comes with a full carbon frame, Fox suspension and mechanical transmission.
For €5999, the mid-range Recap 9.0 model offers Performance Elite suspension with high-quality Grip X2 damping and a GX transmission. The top model, the Radon Recap 10.0, which costs another 1000 euros, goes one better with Fox Factory and XT Di2 as well as lightweight Newmen Beskar aluminium wheels, especially in terms of value and stability.
The Render also gets a major update to the new 5th generation Bosch CX motor plus the integration of the 800 Wh Powertube battery. The frame has also been redesigned. It now offers 160/150 millimetres of suspension travel, placing it between the Recap and Deft. The characteristic shape with the centre cross brace has been retained.
Overall, however, the frame is slimmer. The geometry has been slightly modernised. There will be four models. It starts at 4499 euros with Fox suspension and a carbon main frame. The Render 10.0 HD 800 with Rockshox Lyrik and Super Deluxe Ultimate marks the top end of the range at 6999 euros.
