Atherton anticipates disruptions to bike production and deliveries. The company is currently unable to say which orders will be affected or how long any delays might last. Affected customers will be informed directly as soon as further information becomes available. Among other things, Atherton manufactures the E-Enduro S.170E with Avinox M2S.

The Declaration of 11 October 2026, translation of the original English text:

“We are deeply shocked to have to confirm that there has been a fire at Atherton Bikes’ head office and factory in Machynlleth. The Mid and West Wales Fire Service did a magnificent job and brought the fire under control. The most important thing is that nobody was injured; everyone is safe.”

We are still trying to assess the full extent of the damage. We realise that this news is particularly worrying for customers who have ordered a bicycle. We expect disruptions to production and deliveries. However, at this stage it is still too early to assess the full impact.

As soon as we know more, we will inform affected customers directly and share further details with the whole community. Please spare a thought for our staff and the entire Atherton Bikes team, for whom this place is a second home.

“Many thanks to everyone who has got in touch with messages of support. It means a great deal to us all.”

Dan, Gee and Rachel Atherton & Dan Brown, CEO

In a separate announcement published on the Atherton website, the company also points out that estimated dispatch dates for new and existing orders are not to be regarded as confirmed for the time being. Atherton does not specify the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage in that announcement either.
