At the E-Bike World Championships from 13-14 August in Ischgl, bikers of all fitness levels can get a taste of racing against the clock.

Standing in the starting block pumped full of adrenaline and with a pounding heart to the sound of booming rock music is normally reserved for well-trained racers. At the E-Bike World Championships for Everyone from 13-14 August in Ischgl, however, normal bikers can also enjoy the unique racing atmosphere. Back in 2019 in the Dolomites, 500 e-bike racers from young to old lined up at the start. This year, the World Championships are set to be even bigger.

The 24-kilometre route is mainly on asphalt and gravel. A stream crossing is a particular highlight. The 24-kilometre route is mainly on asphalt and gravel. A stream crossing is a particular highlight.

Everyone classification with time limits from gold to bronze

The concept: everyone can and may take part. While the elite classification is reserved for professional racers and challenges both fitness and riding technique with a demanding route, the "everyone" route is more accessible. There are 693 metres of elevation gain and 24 kilometres to conquer. Anyone with a standard pedelec that does not exceed 250 watts and stops at 25 km/h can take part. If you don't own a bike or can't bring one with you due to long journeys, you can hire one on site for just 20 euros extra.

In keeping with the motto "everyone is a winner", the organisers have come up with something very special. Despite the mass start, the participants do not race against each other, but against the clock. Those who complete the course in a moderate time receive the bronze medal. Those who beat a fast time target receive silver. Particularly fast e-racers who beat even the last time target receive the gold medal and can call themselves "World Champion of the E-Bike World Championships". In addition, the fastest riders in the various categories from juniors to masters and, of course, the winners of the elite race will be honoured.

Expo, atmosphere and prices

As with any good race, the atmosphere should not be neglected. There is an extensive expo on the festival site with various stands where you can experience the latest technology and accessories and also try out bikes. A pasta party after the race will cater for your physical well-being. Particularly attractive for racers travelling long distances: Numerous favourable multi-day offers with various partner hotels. The entry fee for the E-Bike World Championships alone is 79 euros per participant, 99 euros if a hire e-bike is required. However, there is a 10 euro early bird discount until 6 August. If entry is not possible due to corona, or in the event of a proven corona infection that prevents participation, there are no cancellation fees.

All further information about the event can be found on the organiser's website at ebikewm.com
