For the new season, Müsing is implanting the Shimano Steps E8000 motor in the tried and tested Petrol. The new E-version Petrol 5E comes with 150 millimetres of suspension travel and plus tyres. Alternatively, 29er wheels can also be fitted.
The geometry is modern: The reach is 448 millimetres in frame size L, the steering angle 66.5 degrees. These data promise a smooth ride, while the 460 millimetre chainstays should provide the necessary agility.
As with the Hardtail Savage E the customer also determines the design and equipment of the Petrol 5E. With a choice of 220 colours and 50 decals, everyone should find their dream design. All models have a Rock Shox Pike suspension fork and a Rock Shox Monarch shock. The gearing can be upgraded in stages from Shimano Deore to an electronic or mechanical XTR, depending on the budget. The basic model costs 4800 euros, the "full hut" version a hefty 7700 euros.
We were able to test the Petrol 5E on the trails around Willingen: the tried and tested Shimano Steps motor performs well uphill. The front end only rears up slightly on more extreme climbs. This is due to both the short chainstays and the high front end. Downhill, the bike is very playful and puts a big grin on your face. The suspension is solid and absorbs all impacts.
The Müsing Petrol 5E is a good all-rounder that feels particularly at home on tours and trails. The free choice of colours and components is great for individualists.
