CONCLUSION: A very successful freerider with impeccable equipment and great all-round qualities. One of the favourites in the test field.

Votec's Freerider looks like a jewelled diva in a mink coat at a beer festival - while other manufacturers had to scramble to overcome the price hurdle of a maximum of € 3000 and resorted to cheap suspension elements or economy brakes, the German manufacturer only bolted high-end parts onto its "V. FR": For example, bright "Dee Max" wheels or the beautifully milled, very powerful Hope "Moto" brakes with steel flex lines. This is not only visible, it also increases the riding pleasure. We put the fact that the cables and hoses were a little tangled in front of the handlebars down to the fact that they were ordered at short notice - it could be better. As soon as you sit on the bike, you can feel the full, soft suspension travel at the rear and realise that it has potential. In combination with the surprisingly good "Rubber Queen" tyres, even on sharp-edged rocky trails, and an effective "66", the Votec is one of the favourites in the test field. The riding position is comfortable and balanced. Thanks to the two chainrings, the bike is even suitable for trail riding. Even in the air, the bike gives you enough confidence to jump over gaps that you might otherwise have preferred to avoid. Some test bikes are only a little more manoeuvrable on angled hairpin bends or ride a little smoother downhill at high speeds.

RemarkHave the Votec guys raided a container ship? How else can you equip a bike so elegantly for the price? Great value for money!
