Quotes:

"It feels great to be part of a feature-length mountain bike film. We all grew up with this kind of film. We used to sit mesmerised in front of the TV with our siblings or friends in the evening and then wanted to recreate everything the next day. To have a part in a film like this that will still be celebrated in 20 years' time is something very special." - Rachel Atherton (GBR)

How do you like this article?

"I'm really happy to be a part of "The Old World", in a film with all these bike legends. I know the Tillmann Brothers and Red Bull Media House have gone all out to make the best bike film ever. Biking is booming. Releasing a highlight like this right now will bring biking even closer to the world.

I know you can't buy happiness, but you can buy a bike and you're damn close!" - Matthias Dandois (FRA).

"Having a segment in a production as big as The Old World means a lot to me. The shoot was completely different to anything I'd experienced before. We had a huge crew, lots of cameras and the planning process was also more complex than my usual film projects with just one cameraman. Nevertheless, I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly everything went and that everything felt right straight away. I'm looking forward to the final film and hope that it will bring BMX riding closer to people." - Bruno Hoffmann (GER)

"It was a super new experience for me to help shape a film project from A to Z at the very highest level. Seeing how much work, time and money it takes to produce things like this makes me want to do more! I'm always imagining shots of the tricks I'd like to land - and now I know how to do it. The part I enjoyed the most was the moment when I realised that we had filmed great shots - it was a kind of confirmation that our hard work had paid off and that we had created something good; something that I and my friends could be proud of." - Szymon Godziek (POL)

"I've always wanted to be part of a big mountain bike production since I started biking in 2007. The fact that I can now shoot my part for the first real film in Spain of all places, more precisely in my home spot La Poma, is something very special." - Bienvenido Aguado Alba (ESP)

"We wanted to show the European diversity that our continent and our athletes have to offer. In Europe, there are world-class athletes in every discipline and that's why we wanted to show this diversity. We definitely didn't want to make a pure freeride film where only some gravel slopes are skied down, but to create a diverse film that appeals to viewers from all fan communities." - Andi Tillmann (GER), producer and director
