A clean cockpit without a clunky display, a battery elegantly concealed in the frame and the handling of the Levo is the closest thing to a conventional mountain bike: nicely balanced, low centre of gravity, successful geometry - we never felt so comfortable on any other bike. Clever: Specialized equipped its Levo with thick B-Plus tyres (3.0 inch). Given the high overall weight of the e-bikes, the comfortable tyres seem particularly suitable. They not only cushion, but also provide a lot of grip. This allows the Brose motor to effectively transfer its power to the trail on steep, slippery climbs where other bikes get stuck. Brose doesn't deliver quite as much power as Bosch, but it's enough for trail rides! LEDs on the battery indicate the charge status and the motor can be controlled via app or push button. 140 millimetres at the front and 135 at the rear do not nominally make for freeride suspension. However, the thick tyres conceal the lack of suspension travel, so that the bike is equipped for enduro use and can also cope with rougher terrain. Specialized will no doubt soon be upgrading with a model with more travel.
ConclusionOur handling favourite! The Specialized rides playfully for an e-bike, purrs pleasantly quietly through the trail and impresses with its chic, discreet look.
