Specialised Demo 7
CONCLUSION: Uphill and on undulating trails nothing or little works, but wherever gravity accelerates, the "Demo" has the edge.

If the FREERIDE test were a Miss Germany contest, the Specialized would strut down the catwalk measuring 90-60-90 and flash its teeth as bright as xenon. The "Demo" already scored full points last year and the American bike dominated this year too. With its potent suspension, the "Demo" storms downhill so confidently that even the slowest tester can suddenly put the pressure on and is breathing down the neck of his high-speed colleagues. The rear suspension is so plush and soft that it's best to keep the handlebars straight if you stray from the ideal line. Because no matter what lies ahead - as long as it's not a rock face the size of a house - you'll simply roll over it in monster truck style. But despite its superior chassis and smooth ride, the "Demo" is not a menhir that simply rolls along the fall line into the valley. The geometry is so harmonious that the testers nodded at each other in agreement. A light pull on the handlebars and the bike is easy to pull into the manual or push through corners in choppy sections. Thanks to the "Chunder" tyres, the Specialized sits firmly on the ground - tyres that are up to the job, even if there are tyres with better grip - at least on rocky surfaces. In the air, you can feel the good weight distribution, which boosts the bike's suitability for tricks. Tip: For a more direct suspension, e.g. in the park, you should use a stiffer spring.

RemarkYou rightly ask yourself: Can this bike be topped? We are very excited about the "Demo" successor!
