The new "Voltage" is also very variable. It rolls on 27.5-inch wheels as standard, but offers the option of 26-inch wheels.

Depending on how you mount the shock absorber, 170 or 190 millimetres of spring can be squeezed out of the rear. Plus a short or long wheelbase (410-425 millimetres) and a steering angle of 62 to 66 degrees via headset shells. The bike serves the ever-shrinking niche of pure park bikes with trick potential. The top model "FR 710" with Fox "36" and Shimano "XT" brake system and a weight of just under 16 kilos was made for the bouncy black slopes of the Châtel bike park. With a 63 mm steering angle and short wheelbase, it is just as playful on the road as a Specialized "Enduro Evo", offers good pop on jumps, works quickly in the mid-stroke and has a firm progression for hard landings. The bike also felt manoeuvrable, good and safe on the downhill trails.

Problem: Due to the large wheels and long suspension travel, the saddle must not be lowered too low, otherwise the tyre will drag when the suspension travel is fully utilised.

The bike is available in three price categories:
"Voltage FR 710": 3,599 euros
"Voltage FR 720": 2,499 euros
"Voltage FR 730": 1 999 euros

ConclusionFor bikers looking for a robust and versatile park bike, the new "Voltage" is ideal. The variable geo with double bridge fork also makes it interesting as a cheaper downhill bike. A fun bike with very harmonious equipment.
