RAAW presents the Yalla!!! V2, RAAW presents the next development stage of its downhill bike. The redesign focusses on the newly designed dropouts. These are now compatible with Sram's Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) and also allow the chainstay length to be adjusted. Instead of integrating the adjustment within the dropout, the entire dropout can be replaced. This allows the chainstay length to be moved forwards or backwards by 5 mm. According to RAAW, this can be done in just a few minutes. The new design also has a clamping screw to prevent the rear wheel axle from loosening under constant load. Another innovation concerns wheel compatibility.
The Yalla!!! V2 is still primarily designed for 29-inch wheels, but can now also be ridden with a small 27.5-inch rear wheel. RAAW has created more tyre clearance and developed a special shock mount that compensates for the geometry changes that a smaller rear wheel entails. RAAW emphasises that smaller riders in particular benefit from the "Mullet" setup, as the configuration offers more freedom of movement in steep sections. This setup also has advantages for fans of aggressive cornering.
The frame of the RAAW Yalla!!! V2 has been redesigned in several areas. The new down tube is characterised by straight lines and carefully designed transitions to the bottom bracket area. At the same time, RAAW has created more space for various shocks in the frame triangle. To protect the frame, RAAW supplies the bike with a set of rubber protectors. The down tube protector covers the full width of the down tube and is 5 mm thick to absorb impacts. The chainstays are also fitted with protectors to hide the gear cable and prevent chafing from the heel. RAAW also supplies precisely cut protective films for the largest exposed frame surfaces. Typical RAAW: The brake lines and shift cables are routed externally on the down tube.
RAAW is sticking to the tried and tested suspension concept of the Yalla!!! The bike still has 198 mm travel at the rear and 203 millimetres at the fork. Also familiar: The "toolbox concept", which allows a lot of fine-tuning of the suspension and geometry. For example, the bottom bracket height can be adjusted up or down by 3 mm. The progression of the rear triangle can also be increased or reduced by 3%. In combination with the eccentric RAAW headset shells, the 56 mm head tube makes it easy to adjust the reach and steering angle.
The geometry of the RAAW Yalla!!! V2 remains unchanged compared to the previous model. RAAW is therefore satisfied with the fit of the frame, the stable riding behaviour thanks to the low bottom bracket and the balanced weight distribution between the front and rear wheels. The Yalla!!! V2 is available in three sizes from M to XL. The sizes are designed for riders from 167 to 199 cm tall.
