The new Propain Trickshot dirt bike is made for young bikers in search of action. Thanks to its adapted design and optimised styling, it should cut a fine figure from dirt to pump track to street. With the new Trickshot, the Ravensburg-based company wants to enable bikers to enter the freeride category and at the same time fulfil the needs of experienced trick riders. To this end, Propain is launching two pre-configured versions in its portfolio, which should also impress in terms of price.

Simple and therefore simply good: Propain's new dirt bike

Designing a good dirt bike is more complicated than many people think. Although the Propain is technically much more reduced than the brand's fullys, this is precisely why every detail has to be right. The Trickshot 2 is based on a brand new aluminium frame design and comes with 100 millimetres of suspension travel and 26-inch wheels. It is designed to offer young riders in particular an uncomplicated introduction to the MTB lifestyle and the world of technical riding tricks. Learning control, turns and jumps is quicker on a dirt bike than on larger bikes. The aluminium frame also promises low weight and high stability for fluffed lines. However, the Propain Trickshot is not aimed exclusively at newbies, but also at dirt veterans who want to travel the world on their bike and take part in contests over big jumps.

An ingenious chain tensioning system on the Propain Trickshot 2 makes it easier to fine-tune the chainstay length. Propain specifies this at 390 millimetres, which should make rotation tricks such as 180s and 360s easier. Furthermore, the head tube of the dirt bike is prepared to accommodate a rotor system, which enables stunts such as barspins and tailwhips without having to do without a brake. Speaking of which: the Propain Trickshot is supplied with a rear brake with sufficient cable length for such tricks. There are also special attachments from Sixpack that have been specially developed for dirt bikes.

Equipment and prices

Propain offers the Trickshot not only in two colours and two equipment variants, but also in two frame sizes. Young riders should be able to cope well with the compact frame size S/M, while taller adults can order the bike in size L/XL. Both models are based on the same frame and come with wheels from DT Swiss, which are fitted with dirt tyres from Schwalbe. There are differences in the price drivers, such as suspension fork and brakes.
