New products 2010: Scott - Voltage, Genius, Scalpel, Scale plus video
Scott is mainly focussing on improving details in 2010. The highlight of the Scott presentation is the new Voltage FR 30.

The new Voltage FR 30 is a freerider, downhill bike, slopestyle bike and touring bike all in one. It has so many adjustment options that it can be easily converted from a 140 millimetre enduro bike to a 180 millimetre freerider with just a few simple steps, different shock lengths and interchangeable dropouts.

The Voltage will be available in three equipment variants labelled 10, 20 and 30. With a sensational complete bike price of 1600 euros, the Voltage FR 30 is the most affordable entry into the freeride world.

For the Spark, Scale and Genius race models, improvements have been made above all in the bottom bracket area. In 2010, all three models will be available with an FSA BB30 Press Fit bottom bracket, which should be easy to maintain, easy to fit and very light.

The Tracktion mode remote lever has also been further developed for the Genius. The new system is called Twinloc. With the new lever, it is now possible to control not only the shock on the bike but also all suspension forks with remote lockout at the same time. This applies to all DT Swiss, Fox and Rock Shox forks. With the Twinloc system, the fork is open when the damper is open and in Tracktion mode; the fork is only locked when the lockout is engaged on the damper.

Voltage FR 10 driving report (you can find the full report as a PDF download below):

We were able to get our first test impressions of the new Voltage FR around Fribourg in Switzerland. The playful potential of the bike is already evident on the roll-in section to the trail. Thanks to the short chainstays, it climbs willingly on the rear wheel to the manual, the saddle can be pulled out far, yet the low top tube offers plenty of room for playful and snappy riding manoeuvres. On the first berm, you'll get the aha effect you've been waiting for: the Voltage pulls smoothly through the corners at full speed, the low bottom bracket puts pressure on the wheels. Even when the ground gets nasty, the FR remains confident.
