Rotwild introduces the R.G+ FS motor-assisted downhiller onto the market. A 200-millimetre frame in a gravity tubeshape forms the basis of the new e-mountainbike. The frame offers space for 27.5-inch tyres up to 2.6 inches wide. In typical Rotwild fashion, the 500 Wh drivetrain, which is made entirely of carbon, is elegantly concealed in the frame. Rotwild also relies on the proven Brose drive for the downhiller. This is because it is completely decoupled from the drive, allowing easy pedalling even beyond 25 km/h. The support levels can also be individually adjusted.
When it comes to the geometry, Rotwild gives the rider the choice of a long and slack or rather short and high. The steering angle of the R.G+ FS can be raised or lowered by 1.5 degrees and the chainstays can be extended from 450 millimetres to 462.5 millimetres.
On the suspension side, Rotwild relies on Fox. Both bikes, the Evo for 8999 euros and the Pro version for 7999 euros, come with a Fox Float X2 shock. This should harmonise well with the Rotwild suspension. According to Rotwild, the drive influences have also been specially adapted to the higher chain pull of the E-drive.
The biggest difference between the two models is the fork. On the more expensive Evo model, Rotwild relies on the double crown fork from Fox, while the Pro uses the 180 single crown fork. The gearing is also a little more touring with the XT on the Pro. Both Rotwild E-MTBs are available in frame sizes M and L.
