The Radon really stands out from the test field. You can feel the character of the bike as soon as you sit on it: long reach, lots of rear end projection and a long wheelbase. Designer Bodo Probst has trimmed the "Swoop 210" for speed. With no other bike could we let it rip like with the Radon. The initially firm suspension then comes alive, offers plenty of reserves and provides good feedback. This boosts rider confidence and you're happy to let the bike run. Nasty rock gardens? No problem - just keep going!
The "Zee" braking system bites hard at all times, sits perfectly in the hand with its ergonomic levers and increases the feeling of control. However, the race genes also have a disadvantage - they narrow the range of use. The manoeuvrability and agility suffer somewhat. However, this doesn't mean that the Radon is no good for playing around in the bike park, but in tight, winding sections it feels a little bulky and needs to be ridden with more vigour than the playboys from Canyon, Rose and YT. Especially slow drop-offs and
Northshore stunts require more attention with the Radon.
Conclusion: "Ready to race!" the Radon, with its smooth suspension, is the race bike in the test field. if you're in a hurry and want to plough safely through rough terrain, you should go for the Radon.
Johannes Fischbach (26):
"The Radon is all about banging. It's a race machine with plenty of reserves, rather than a playful park bike. The Radon stands out from the test field with its race genes. On winding trails or Northshore stunts, it feels a little clunky. My race tip!"
