6 goggles for freeriders in a quick check
Eyes open and through! On a wild ride through the woods and meadows, not only our bodies but also our eyes need to be well protected.

Six goggles with style factor in the check:

1 The cloaked one

Smith has snapped up the most stylish riders on the scene. Wonder biker Brandon Semenuk, for example, or FMB star Brett Rheeder. In addition to expertise from the pros, Smith also benefits from style transfer. The result: many people want to wear Rheeder's goggles - like the Squad XL. It has all the important features: Anti-fog, large field of vision, sufficient ventilation, clear interchangeable lens. Available in army olive. Price: 100 €, smithoptics.com

2 The Futurist

The Armega is brand new. It is said to have already helped the US supercrossers to victory. The manufacturer's product description reads like the manual for an astronaut's capsule. Super: the contrast-enhancing ultra HD glass. It is supposed to equalise the view in difficult lighting conditions. We will soon be testing whether it actually works.

3 The weatherproof

The Backland Dirt from Adidas has an enormous field of vision thanks to its monster lens. Disadvantage: It is very high - you have to like that. The nose guard can be removed, as can the two-layer, washable foam padding. Available in many colours and tints. The version with roll-off system is interesting for racers and rain bikers.

4 The compact

The Swedes want their high-contrast lenses to be particularly well matched to colours that can be found in the trail: Brown and green. The round frame design of the Ora Clarity is chic and reminiscent of racing goggles from the 1970s. Incidentally, the three-layer foam padding is designed to fit snugly around the face.
Price: €90, pocsports.com

5 The iconic

The US brand has cult status. The Californians not only design goggles for us bikers, but also equip the army. No wonder the Airbrake is packed with expertise. For example: a foam that absorbs moisture at lightning speed. Or a special airflow system that blows away sweat vapour.
Price: approx. 200 €, oakley.com

6 The favourable

The O'Neal B-30 shows that you can get high-quality goggles for less than €100. The almost frameless design provides an extra wide field of vision. Available in many colour combinations. Price: 70 €, oneal.eu
