5 pocket-sized mini tools in a short freeride test
Mini-Tools are pocket-sized workshops. In the event of a breakdown, they decide whether the fun can continue. 5 tools in the check.

THE TEST RESULTS

Topeak "Mini 20 Pro" - FREERIDE Tip

The classy look is not deceptive, the workmanship of the "Mini 20 Pro" convinced us. The tool kit is also very good. There is the important chain riveter and even a fat 10 mm Allen key. Due to the small design, you need nimble hands - but you have to die a death.

Crankbrothers "B14"

The tool from Crankbrothers goes its own way. It consists of a collection of bits, just like the ones you know from your cordless screwdriver. The bits are easy to select and insert into the handle - but without a ratchet mechanism. This makes the tool somewhat unwieldy, heavy and easy to lose the bits. The "B14" is the only tool in the test field that does not have a chain riveter.

Rose "T-20"

How do you like this article?

The "T20" is the cheapest mini-tool in the test field. The tool scored well in the evaluation criteria: Equipment, handling and pack size. In contrast to the competition, however, the workmanship appears somewhat cheap. But it is also inexpensive. Clever: The handle of the attachable chain rivet is also a tyre lever. Caution: very susceptible to rust!

Lezyne "V-11"

As usual, Lezyne shines with high-quality workmanship and light weight. The corrosion protection is flawless. The pack size is also first class - however, handling the tiny tool is a little tricky. In terms of features, we missed the Phillips head.

Blackburn "Toolminator 2"

The "Toolminator 2" is particularly compact. The tool is pleasantly light, but the tools are too short. This makes screwing no fun. The Blackburn also lacked a 2.5 mm Allen key and a Phillips head. The "Toolminator" also loses points in terms of corrosion protection and dimensional accuracy of the individual tools.
