German engineering is praised all over the world - only in bicycle construction does our tinkerer state fly under the radar. Five new big bikes from Germany aim to raise the image barometer.
What do big bikes need to be able to do? They have to be fast, of course - but speed isn't everything, we think. Big bikes should also have a bit of playfulness, don't you think?Photo: Tobias Woggon What do big bikes need to be able to do? They have to be fast, of course - but speed isn't everything, we think. Big bikes should also have a bit of playfulness, don't you think?

Are these all German big bikes? No, of course not. The big bikes from Canyon, Radon, YT, Bulls, Rotwild and the rest are missing. But this time we deliberately wanted to concentrate on new developments. Bikes that we had not yet tested. However, one new product is still missing from the test field: the super-light Solid Strike. This is annoying, but can't be helped, as Solid has actually sold out of all 2017 models - lucky for Solid, unlucky for us.

We tested these big bikes - you can order the full test report with all the results below:

  • Bergamont Straitline Team
  • Cube Two15 HPA Race
  • Haibike Seet Dwnhll 9.0
  • Propain Rage Carbon Free
