4 latecomers compare themselves to the Canyon Torque
As soon as the last issue was finished, four exciting latecomers landed in our office that would have fitted perfectly into the test field. Fully touring-compatible, lightweight freeriders with 180 millimetres of travel.

If you arrive too late, you'll have to go to the post-test and also face the class leader in the category, the Canyon "Torque".

The sales slogan "One bike for everything" is pretty hackneyed. But the new 180cc enduro class manages the balancing act between tour and park really well. This is not just down to the suspension travel. Rather, the consistency with which the developers have transferred geometry concepts from downhill to the all-round sector is unprecedented. In recent years, the suspension of downhill bikes has been continuously lowered and the steering angle has become increasingly slack. A bottom bracket height of 340 millimetres and a steering angle of less than 63 degrees are now standard.

In the case of enduro bikes, only a few manufacturers have dared to set the bottom bracket lower than 36 centimetres. The reason: The bikes should not only work rolling downhill, but also pedalling straight ahead, and it can quickly happen on rooty passages that you touch down with the pedal. So the motto was rather a little higher. Unfortunately.
