In Bavaria, far-reaching exit restrictions will apply from Saturday, 21 March 0:00 a.m.. After citizens from Mitterteich (Tirschenreuth district) were only allowed to leave their homes under strict conditions, the Bavarian state government has now extended its measures to the entire state. However, while a strict curfew applies in Mitterteich (as in Tyrol), the state of Bavaria is currently "only" subject to curfew restrictions. It remains to be seen whether other federal states will follow the Bavarian measures.
Similar to the Neighbouring country Austria people in Bavaria are only allowed to leave their homes if they have a "valid reason". This includes, among other things, travelling to work, necessary shopping or doctor's appointments. But what about outdoor sports or cycling? Minister President Markus Söder also commented on this at his press conference: "Fresh air is good for you," he said. Outdoor sports and walks are permitted. At the same time, however, Mr Söder warned that this should only be done alone or with family members. Bike tours or racing bike laps with club mates or bike buddies are therefore taboo! High-risk trails or Intervals until complete physical exhaustion are not banned by the Bavarian state, but are best avoided in times of crisis. These exit restrictions for Bavaria are initially valid for a fortnight and will be monitored by the police and public order offices. Anyone who does not adhere to the rules will face heavy fines. Literally it says in the Announcement by the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care:
"Valid reasons are in particular...sport and exercise in the fresh air, but exclusively alone or with members of your own household and without any other group formation"
The order comes into force on 21 March 2020, 00:00. The exit restrictions in Bavaria have been extended and will end on 19 April 2020.
