Cube is revising the E-MTB fleet for the 2018 season in detail: The high-quality models all have the new Bosch Powertube battery, and the equipment is optimised for the area of use.

Many manufacturers are focussing on motor diversity, Cube as one of the largest e-MTB manufacturers, continues to use only Bosch motors. These impress with good performance, a long service life and, more recently, stylish integration. For the 2018 season, the Bavarians are equipping all high-quality models with the new Bosch Powertube battery with 500 Wh capacity (EMTB reported). In addition to the clean look, the new battery offers another advantage: the new models even have space for an additional bottle cage in the frame. The tried and tested gravity casting down tube with external battery is now only used on the cheapest models in the respective category.

With the exception of the Stereo Hybrid 140, all fully models with a Powertube battery have sportier geometries with slightly slacker head angles. With the exception of the entry-level hardtails, all Cube E-MTBs roll on wide 2.6-inch Schwalbe tyres. These should be the perfect middle ground between wide plus tyres and narrow "standard" tyres. Fullys with more suspension travel even get the exclusive reinforced Super Gravity carcass. This provides particularly good protection against punctures and sidewall punctures. All bikes that are not equipped with a telescopic seatpost ex works can be upgraded with a Vario seatpost for an additional 100 euros.

The Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 in the Action Team version is a hot tip for e-mountain bikers who love it particularly fast and technical downhill: for € 5800, the bike has high-quality Fox Factory suspension and a hybrid wheelset from Newmen. The short 165 mm cranks should provide sufficient pedalling clearance on the climbs.

The entry-level model Cube Acid Hybrid One 29 for 1800 euros is the most affordable e-MTB from Cube. It has the Bosch Active Line motor and a 400 Wh battery. For 200 euros more, you can upgrade to a 500 Wh battery. The Cube Stereo Hybrid 120 with carbon frame also has the Powertube battery and is available from dealers for 6,500 euros. As an advocate of good value for money, Cube is launching the Stereo Hybrid 120 One fully with a 500 Wh battery for 3000 euros (pictured above) for the coming model year.
