All-rounder: Conway EMF 327 on test
The bright signal colours of the Conway suggest a wild disposition. However, the EMF is a very balanced character.

You immediately feel comfortable on the bike, both uphill and downhill. The handling is pleasantly neutral and the handlebars are wide enough. The centre of gravity is low, which gives you confidence. The gearing is geared more towards speed than ambitious climbs. Nevertheless, the Bosch drive pushes the bike up to 1370 metres - 3rd place in the range. The suspension does a solid job: the usable 130 millimetres of suspension travel allow you to tackle challenging terrain. So everything done right? With one annoying caveat: the low-traction race tyres have no place on an E-MTB. They spoil the Conway's better points score both uphill and downhill.

CONCLUSIONA well-balanced all-rounder that has no design weaknesses, but weak tyres.

This costs the Conway valuable points: With these thin carcasses, the puncture protection drops to rock bottom. On 22-kilo e-mountainbikes, you need tyres with grip and safety more than optimised rolling resistance.Photo: Markus Greber This costs the Conway valuable points: With these thin carcasses, the puncture protection drops to rock bottom.
