The Maxx Huraxdax is one of the few fat bike e-full-suspension models on the market and is now available with a Bosch motor.
Riding where other e-bikes give up: that’s what the Maxx Huraxdax ELB is designed for. This fatbike is built to tackle sand, snow and mud, and is powered by the Bosch Performance CX motor. It also comes in a wide range of sizes, with a choice of colours and customisable specifications.

Opinion of the BIKE editorial team

Fatbikes used to be all the rage, but they’ve lost a lot of their appeal. The range of bikes on offer has shrunk dramatically, even though wide tyres – particularly when combined with an electric motor – can certainly be useful in certain off-road situations. It’s great that Maxx is staying true to its ethos and continuing to cater to this niche market. With its extensive range of sizes, choice of colours and online configurator, the Rosenheim-based company has even more unique selling points up its sleeve.

Fatbikes used to be all the rage, but have since faded somewhat into obscurity. With an electric motor, however, these wide-tyred bikes – which are particularly well-suited to off-road riding – make even more sense. On the right terrain, they push the boundaries of what’s rideable. The Bavarian bike manufacturer Maxx has never strayed from this trend. Now the Rosenheim-based company is expanding its Huraxdax range with a new e-full-suspension bike featuring a Bosch drive. The Huraxdax ELB complements the existing range and is aimed at all fat bike enthusiasts who prefer the Bosch system. The Huraxdax is also still available with a Shimano motor or as a classic mountain bike without a motor. Maxx also has hardtail fat bikes in its range.

This full-suspension e-fatbike is specially designed for challenging terrain. With its powerful Bosch Performance CX motor, delivering 120 Nm of torque, and batteries with a capacity of up to 800 Wh, the Huraxdax ELB can handle even long rides off the beaten track. The 4.8-inch-wide fatbike tyres on 26-inch wheels offer optimum grip on snow, mud and loose ground.

The facts

  • Frame: 6061-T6 aluminium, MAXX Custom Tubing, double powder-coated
  • Suspension travel: 146 mm at the rear, 150 mm at the front
  • Drive: Bosch Performance CX, 120 Nm
  • Battery: Bosch PowerTube 600 Wh (standard) / 800 Wh (optional), removable
  • Frame sizes: S to XXL (for heights from 1.60 m to 2.08 m)
  • Wheels: 26" fat bike, 4.8" tyres, hand-laced; optional 29" Plus with 2.8" tyres
  • Permissible system weight: 140 kg
  • Price: from 6,999 euros

The newly developed rear suspension, with its progressive tuning, combines 146 mm of rear travel with the Manitou Mastadon fork (150 mm at the front) to create a responsive and efficient suspension system.

The robust frame, made from special 6061-T6 aluminium in the Maxx Custom Tubing range, features an octagonal Octatube down tube for maximum stiffness. Short seat tube lengths are designed to allow the use of long telescopic seat posts – for greater freedom of movement. The removable down tube battery is protected by a high-quality aluminium cover in the same colour as the frame.

Like all Maxx models, the Huraxdax ELB can be customised using the online configurator – from tyres and brakes through to the chassis and the double-powder-coated paint finish of your choice in matt or gloss. 29-inch-plus wheels with 2.8-inch tyres are available as accessories. Each bike is assembled entirely by hand in Rosenheim by qualified bicycle mechanics.
