The Cube Stereo One55 C:62, priced at 3,999 euros, offers a very good overall package thanks to its high-quality spec and top-class performance. In fact, it’s the best of the 2023 all-mountain bikes priced up to 5,000 euros that we’ve compared. – A well-deserved victory in the test.

A 1.5-degree shallower head angle, 20 millimetres more reach and a lower bottom bracket – Cube’s All Mountain Bike has undergone a radical transformation for the 2023 model year. With this geometry update, the Cube Stereo One55* Clearly an all-mountain bike with a strong focus on downhill riding. The long wheelbase and flat front end provide a very high level of riding confidence on high-speed sections and on steep terrain. The highly adjustable Fox suspension system, featuring the X2 Enduro shock, leaves no doubt as to the Stereo One55’s downhill capabilities.

Although it has 150 millimetres of suspension travel at the rear and front is not one of the bikes with the longest travel in the comparison test, our test team rated the One55 as having the most confident suspension performance. Cube makes no compromises when it comes to tyre choice either, fitting a 2.5 Maxxis Assegai on the front wheel in the softest rubber compound. This plays a major part in the Cube’s victory in the downhill classification.

An impressive frame weight: 2614 grams

With a frame weight of 2614 grams, this model also takes the lead in this category. This means that, despite its downhill-oriented spec, the Cube still ranks in the middle of the pack in terms of overall weight.

Although the comfortable riding position means you won’t be setting any record times on uphill sections, you can still tackle long climbs in a relaxed manner – just as you’d expect from an all-mountain bike.

Riders looking for technical challenges on uphill sections will benefit from the pleasantly steep seat angle. This shifts the centre of gravity towards the front wheel, making it easier to maintain control. Those who prefer not to carry a rucksack will appreciate the additional mounting point on the top tube and the storage compartment in the down tube.

Conclusion on the Cube Stereo One55 C:62 SLX 29 Review:

The Cube Stereo One55* It’s a relaxed ride on long tours, light enough for long climbs and offers plenty of power in reserve on descents. Combined with its high-quality spec, Cube delivers the best overall package in the test. – Max Fuchs, BIKE editor
