Wondercross Bikes was born out of a shared passion for cycling and a local riding community in Melbourne. Regular rides gradually gave rise to a bicycle brand of its own, whose roots still lie in the scene, exploration and adventure. Rather than focusing exclusively on traditional racing, Wondercross adopts the approach ‘For the people, not the podium’. The bikes are designed to encourage people to discover new routes – on tarmac, gravel and trails – whilst being as versatile and reliable as possible.
This philosophy also shapes the development of the bikes. Among other things, Wondercross focuses on durable titanium frames and versatile geometries, which are designed to be suitable for both fast gravel rides and longer tours and bikepacking. The focus is not on specialising in a single discipline, but on the freedom to experience a wide variety of adventures on a single bike. The brand therefore sees the gravel bike less as a purely sporting piece of kit and more as a long-lasting companion and a starting point for new experiences, encounters and shared adventures.
Gravel riding without the stress
With the Wanderer, Wondercross aims to appeal to gravel cyclists who would rather have a single bike in their garage than three. With balanced geometry and tyre clearance for tyres up to 55 millimetres wide, the Wanderer is designed to cover a particularly wide range of uses, from a casual after-work ride to an ambitious bikepacking tour. The frame is made from Grade 9 titanium. The frame comes with a lifetime guarantee and features practical design elements, such as a bolted T47 bottom bracket and a UDH derailleur hanger, and is approved for high-pressure cleaning, making it particularly low-maintenance. The sandblasted and brushed titanium finish also promises to retain its fresh appearance for a long time.
Wondercross offers the Wanderer Titan gravel bike in no fewer than seven frame sizes. A bespoke chainstay yoke is designed to ensure the desired stiffness despite the generous tyre clearance. The frame kit includes a fork from carbon specialists Enve. There are three spec options to choose from. However, Wondercross can also create bespoke set-ups on request. Three bottle cage mounts, bolt-on points on the fork, and mounts for mudguards and a luggage rack are designed to come into their own during adventure rides and everyday use.
