Everything is new in ... in this case October. Standert has relaunched its Erdgeschoss stainless steel gravel bike. The new model relies on the proven properties of stainless steel and combines them with modern technical features for bikepacking and off-road adventures. According to the manufacturer, the stainless steel frame should last a lifetime. The ground floor offers a tyre clearance of 50 millimetres for 700C wheels and 54 millimetres for 650B wheels. There are numerous mounting points on the frame and on the Columbus Cross+ carbon fork for attaching luggage, mudguards, additional bottle cages or bikepacking bags. You can buy the ground floor immediately - delivery date January:
The new ground floor has a wider T47 bottom bracket with an 85.5 millimetre bottom bracket width. According to Standert, this should offer all the advantages of a robust BSA system, but with more stiffness, better tyre clearance and compatibility with almost all available cranksets. A special feature of the frame are the sliding dropouts with Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH). These not only enable compatibility with SRAM's full-mount XPLR, Eagle and Transmission derailleurs, but also offer the option of retaining the chain tension for a fixed gear in the event of a defect in the derailleur. Or you can set up the bike as a singlespeed. The Columbus Cross+ carbon fork has an adjustable pre-bend that allows the riding behaviour to be adapted to the wheel size, luggage load, terrain or personal preference. A steeper angle ensures more direct, agile handling, while a longer pre-bend provides a smoother, more relaxed riding experience.
The ground floor cable routing is semi-integrated, which is practical because it makes maintenance easier. Internal light cable routing is provided for hub dynamos. The frame is supplied with a Chris King headset, which is known for its durability. There are mounting points for pannier racks and mudguards at both the front and rear.
The ground floor is available in two colour variants: Golden Brown and White Rabbit.
Drdgeschoss 2399 euros, whereby the Chris King headset is already included in the price. There are various options for the complete builds: The Golden Brown ground floor with SRAM Rival AXS XPLR drivetrain is available for 4499 euros, while the White Rabbit ground floor with SRAM Force AXS XPLR is offered for 6499 euros. Standert also offers customised configurations from 4799 euros. Maxe Faschina, Head of Product at Standert, explains the development of the new model: "The ground floor has built up a loyal fan base over the years. That's why we decided to make the necessary updates to future-proof it for the latest groupsets, while retaining the traditional features that have made it so special from the start." The bike is "durable, easy to maintain and highly customisable".
