The central element of the new Turbo Creo, which still falls into the E-Road category despite its wide tyres, is the innovative motor. According to Specialized, there is no other drive that offers so much offers the same power and range as the SL 1.2. The mid-motor has a rated output of 320 watts and a maximum torque of 50 Newton metres. According to Specialized, the maximum range is 190 kilometres. In addition, the noise of the motor is said to be minimal compared to other motors.
The manufacturer does not specify a system weight for Specialized Turbo Creo 2, but the motor is said to have become lighter thanks to smaller and more efficient batteries, without reducing the range. The previous SL 1.1 motor weighed almost two kilos and delivered 240 watts with a maximum of 35 Newton metres to the road. An app can be used to adjust the power output of the new e-bike motor and monitor pedalling power and heart rate, among other things.
The Specialized Turbo Creo inherits the advanced suspension system on the cockpit from the new Roubaix cobblestone killer. The Future Shock 3.0 can be adapted to the terrain and rider weight thanks to numerous adjustment options. The upright riding position, the comfortably thick standard tyres (47 millimetres), a telescopic seat post and numerous attachment points for luggage make the Turbo Creo a complete comfort concept. Detail: The mudguards can even be used with the wide knobby tyres.
The Specialized Turbo Creo 2 is available in three different equipment variants and is offered in five different sizes. All models have electronic shifting with SRAM drivetrains and large MTB cassettes. The price ranges from 6000 euros for the basic model (Comp) with simple aluminium wheels from DT Swiss and a relatively heavy, but still electronic Sram Apex AXS drivetrain, to an impressive 13,000 euros for the S-Works version with a lightweight carbon wheelset from Specialized's own brand Roval and a high-quality Sram Red AXS wireless drivetrain.
