The Rose Hobo Cues is coming - and with it a new bright candy-coloured paint job for the flatbar urban gravel bike for every day. For Rose Bikes, the eye-catching bike with steel frame and front carrier is the embodiment of a cool, sporty lifestyle with everyday practicality.

The Flatbar gravel bike made of steel weighs 13 kilograms and comes with a front pannier rack and two transport straps as standard. Shimano's Cues groupset with one chainring and ten gears serves as the drivetrain.

The steel frame is combined with a carbon fork, which is designed to increase riding comfort and make the bike easier to handle. In this context, Rose has also reduced the handlebar width to 680 millimetres compared to the previous model.

Extensive equipment

The in-house G30 wheels in 650B size are fitted with 47 millimetre wide WTB Venture tyres, which primarily show their strengths on asphalt and easy gravel paths. Prepared mounts for side stands and mudguards are also available to emphasise the bike's qualities for everyday urban cycling.

Nevertheless, the Hobo is not just a practical lifestyle runabout for the city: the frame and fork offer 14 attachment points for luggage, which also make the bike a robust companion for a bikepacking tour. This is complemented by the tyre clearance, which allows for tyres up to 55 millimetres wide.

Serious engraver

"Even though many people will ride the bike in the city, you can do some serious graveling with it," says Rose product manager Anatol Sostmann, characterising the bike, adding: "The Hobo has nothing to hide from bikepacking trips and cycle tours." The bike is now available in the Rose online shop at prices starting from 1300 euros.

His passion for racing bikes led him straight to the TOUR editorial team as an intern, which has since become an affair of the heart that has lasted more than 30 years, 16 of them as editor-in-chief. As a - in his own words - "generalist in the cycling niche", he is interested in all topics relating to road bikes (and gravel bikes) and is still particularly enthusiastic about racing today. Highlights of his own career as a racing cyclist include taking part in the TOUR-Transalp, the odd everyman race and regular Alpine tours with friends.
