BMC is recalling several models of its Kaius gravel bike. The Swiss bike manufacturer is responding to safety concerns due to damage to the steerer tube. The recall affects a total of 9 models from the 2023, 2024 and 2025 model years.

According to a statement from BMC, "in some cases" damage has occurred to the fork steerer tubes of certain models of the Kaius gravel bike under extreme load conditions. Although the affected products fulfil the requirements of the industry tests, BMC has decided on the voluntary recall as the problems encountered do not meet the company's high quality standards. In its announcement, BMC emphasises that its aim is to deliver products that meet the highest expectations.

Recall affects BMC Kaius 01 series 2023, 2024 & 2025

BMC calls on all owners of these Gravel bikes to stop using their bikes immediately and contact their BMC dealer. They will check whether the fork needs to be replaced. Affected models should receive a more robust fork.

The recall affects a total of nine models in the Kaius 01 series from model years 2023, 2024 and 2025, specifically the following models:

  • 2023: Kaius 01 ONE, TWO and THREE
  • 2024: Kaius 01 LTD, ONE, TWO and THREE and
  • 2025: Kaius 01 THREE and FRS.

The company is endeavouring to process the cases as quickly as possible.
