Following the bargain-priced aluminium-framed model and a premium titanium version, the Bonn-based direct-to-consumer retailer is launching a carbon version of its Regard gravel bike. The frame features fully integrated cable routing as well as mounting points for bags and tools.

With a UDH derailleur hanger, it’s technically up to date, although the bike appears to be compatible only with single-chainring set-ups. There is no official specification for the maximum tyre width; judging by the pictures, tyres much wider than the standard 45s are unlikely to fit. The maximum permissible weight is 115 kg.

Handlebars and seat post

Radon even fits all Regard CF models with a one-piece carbon cockpit. The stem and handlebar unit routes all cables internally. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the exact dimensions, but judging by the photos, the handlebars appear to be quite wide and flare out significantly at the ends. The stem appears to be relatively short, which suggests a comfortable, upright riding position. The carbon seatpost is a classic round design with a diameter of 27.2 mm.

Drive and gearboxes

All trim levels feature a single-chainring configuration; there does not appear to be any provision for a front derailleur at all. A 40-tooth chainring is usually fitted at the front; only the top-of-the-range model is fitted with a 42-tooth chainring.
