Canyon introduces the Grizl:ON. This e-gravel bike is ready for anything, from everyday use to big adventures - are you ready? There are four different models, all equipped with the lightweight Bosch SX motor with 400 Wh battery. For even more range, an optional range extender with an additional 250 Wh can be added.

Canyon itself describes the new Grizl:ON as one of the most versatile e-bikes that Canyon has ever developed. A lightweight drive makes the bike more manoeuvrable - for example, a tree lying across the road is not an insurmountable obstacle. The heavier the bike, the more difficult it is to lift it over the tree - or into the cellar. Canyon has equipped the carbon frame of the Grizl:ON with the compact Bosch SX drive. At two kilograms, the drive is significantly lighter than the CX version. The lower overall weight should ensure more agile handling and therefore a more active riding style than with conventional e-bikes. With a maximum torque of 55 Nm, the Bosch SX system unobtrusively supports the rider. However, the cadence must be correspondingly high for full support.

The built-in battery has a capacity of 400 Wh. For longer tours, an optional range extender is recommended, which increases the total capacity by 250 Wh. Together with the connectivity module installed in the bike, the Bosch Flow app offers a two-stage alarm and an effective localisation function: for carefree parking of the gravel bike in front of a café, for example.

The switchable Lupine Nano SL headlight with dipped beam function is mounted on the gravel-specific handlebars. The housing has been specially adapted to the cable outlet opening on the frame. This gives the cockpit a tidy appearance.

In collaboration with Lupine, the Canyon x Lupine SightStays system was also developed, which ensures visibility from all directions with two integrated rear lights at the rear, even when the bike is fully loaded. Should a rear light ever break, it can be replaced in just a few simple steps, according to the press release. Spare parts are available at canyon.com.

Both the rear light and the headlight are powered by the e-bike's battery. If the question now arises: What happens when the battery is empty? Here is the answer. When the battery is empty, it still has reserves for two hours of lighting operation.

Comfort and control

Three of the four models of the gravel bike are equipped with the S14 VCLS 2.0 seatpost. The lightweight leaf spring construction offers sufficient suspension travel to effectively absorb small bumps and vibrations. The Grizl:ON CF Trail offers even more fun and control in technical terrain, thanks to the wireless RockShox Reverb AXS XPLR dropper post with 75 mm adjustment range.

The gravel handlebar HB0064 with 16° flare is mounted on the bike via the 60 mm short stem ST0037. In conjunction with the slack 69.5° head angle, this should allow you to ride safely over a wide range of terrain. The 74° seat angle ensures good climbing behaviour and a slightly more relaxed riding position than the Canyon Grizl without electric drive.

Lots of optional extras for the Canyon Grizl:ON

An optional bike computer mount can be fitted to the stem of the Canyon Grizl:ON. With the help of SP Connect, it is also possible to mount a smartphone. This is practical because the display is further forwards in the field of vision than, for example, when mounted above the top tube or on the stem.

As already mentioned, the range can be increased with the PowerMore 250 Range Extender. The optional Load Fidlock Quickloader frame bag offers storage space for snacks, tools or additional clothing, for example. It is attached using a Fidlock magnet system - cumbersome assembly with tools or straps is a thing of the past.

The Grizl:ON CF Daily comes with a mudguard set including a luggage rack system as standard. It is available as an option for the other three models and is suitable for tyre widths of up to 45 millimetres. The front mudguard was specially developed for the RockShox Rudy suspension fork. The rear mudguard is fitted with a luggage carrier system that can carry up to 15 kilograms of load via the Ortlieb QL3.1 system. Speaking of Ortlieb: Canyon and Ortlieb have joined forces and developed a special edition of the Gravel Pack, which is available exclusively at canyon.com. There is 14.5 litres of storage space per side.
