With the Bulls Grinder Evo SX 2025, the manufacturer presents its first e-gravel bike with a Bosch SX mid-motor. The bike is robust and has a penchant for straight lines.

Topics in this article

The Bulls Grinder Evo looks sturdy, with powerful aluminium frame tubes held together by clean, very evenly drawn weld seams. This gives the E-Graveler a beastly appearance that emphasises rather than hides the e-bike inside it, which is also helped by the powerful-looking bottom bracket base with the SX motor. The frame is rather small.

The initial riding impression also tends to be robust: the bike feels a little heavy on the front end, rolls stoically straight ahead from medium speeds and doesn't like to zigzag: a bike for fast laps without major technical challenges. The frame is stiff enough for the powerful combination of man and machine.

The 400 watt-hour battery can be removed here. Good! The lively Bosch motor perfectly matches the propulsive character of the Grinder Evo, is powerful and sensitive when it counts.

Bulls Grinder Evo: advantages & disadvantages

Should the wide and smooth-running Schwalbe G-One-Bite tyres give way to real mud tyres, the frame and carbon fork still have plenty of room for wider tyres. The riding position of the Bull is balanced and comparatively short on the long bike, you don't sit too stretched out. The handlebar bar sits comfortably in the hand, the cables and wires appear briefly under the handlebar tape before disappearing into the frame or fork.

Only 10 centimetres separate the upper link from the lower link; a pleasant value on a gravel bike, so you can also ride "down" in a relaxed manner. The mini control panel for the motor support is also located on the top link. The high-quality GRX groupset from Shimano flows smoothly through the eleven gears, as you would expect.

The weight of just under 19 kilograms contributes to the less lively appearance. This means that riding fun without assistance is limited. For 4199 euros, the Bulls is adequately equipped. However, with its low manoeuvrability, it lacks light-footedness off-road.

Conclusion: Bulls Grinder Evo SX - E-gravel bike test

The well-equipped but rather heavy Bulls Grinder Evo SX is less sporty. However, with plenty of luggage eyelets, it can make a good all-round commuter or bikepacker and is recommended for tarmac and uncomplicated dirt tracks.
