The Cube Nuroad is getting a motor again! After Cube already had electrified gravel bikes with Fazua's Evation motor in its programme early on, the Bavarian industry giant is now launching a whole fleet of e-gravel bikes with Bosch's Performance SX. The slim package is based on high-quality carbon frames, tyre clearance of up to 50 millimetres and an extensive accessory package for everyday use and bikepacking.
The Nuroad without a motor has already impressed in various tests. Most recently, the affordable and yet really light Cube Nuroad C:62 Pro won the test in our comparison. (Click here for the test of 10 gravel bikes around 2000 euros!) With a full carbon frame and really low weight, it stood out from the crowd of bikes. The hybrid, its electrified brother, is also said to have inherited these characteristics. With Bosch SX and a permanently installed 400-cell battery, the top model should weigh less than 13 kilos.
Every Nuroad Hybrid has been developed to push the boundaries of adventure. The adventure is as individual as the rider - because everyone can experience the world anew. - Cube Bikes

As usual with Cube, a Bosch is used as the e-drive. It is the new Performance SX to match the sporty range of use. At 2.1 kilos and with dynamic power delivery, the little brother of the well-known CX is predestined for lightweight e-bikes and sporty rides. In combination with the compact battery with 400 watt hours, the system weighs 4.1 kilos. Visually, the SX is beefier than, for example, a TQ HPR 50 (to the test of the TQ HPR 50) or a Fazua Ride 60 (to the test of the Fazua Ride 60). On the other hand, the Bosch also has a significantly higher maximum power output. However, it only releases this during intermediate sprints and very high cadence. This gives the Light motor a very dynamic and lively riding experience.
Cube has come up with a few details to make the new Nuroad Hybrid as universal as possible. The FE model is already supplied with a semi-integrated pannier rack on which luggage can be loaded. The carrier can be retrofitted to all other models. Additional storage space is provided by the Low Rider luggage rack attached to the full carbon fork, which can carry up to 10 kg. The chassis is also prepared for mudguards and a kickstand (included with the FE).
If you want to transport even more, you can increase the capacity with Acid sidecages or a handlebar bag. The accessories portfolio of Cube's own brand Acid includes a wide range of matching bags, lights, stands and mudguards.
There are five different versions in the series. Prices start at 3999 euros and the top-of-the-range model costs 6999 euros. Three of the models are characterised by a simple design and are kept sporty and slim - without additional equipment. They can be customised with accessories as required. The two FE models, on the other hand, are already equipped with mudguards, a pannier rack, a kickstand and lights.
The Nuroad Hybrid C:62 SLT 400X is the sporty spearhead of the series and is optimised for low weight. According to Cube, it should weigh a slim 12.9 kilos. It is equipped with the lightweight yet stable Newmen Advanced SL X.R.25 carbon wheels, which perfectly match the slim carbon frame. Thanks to the Sram XX SL Eagle drivetrain, gear changes are quick and precise, with power coming directly from the Bosch battery in the down tube of the bike. Like all models in the Nuroad Hybrid range, this bike can also be upgraded with an additional capacity of 250 Wh from Bosch's Power More.
The Nuroad Hybrid C:62 SLX 400X and its fully equipped variant with everyday features, the Nuroad Hybrid C:62 SLX FE 400X, enable precise shifting even under load thanks to the electronic GX Eagle transmission from Sram. Both models are powered directly by the 400 Wh battery, so no extra battery is required. With the sturdy Newmen Evolution SL X.R.25 wheels and the 45 mm wide Schwalbe tyres, these bikes can easily master any type of surface. Whether on tarmac roads, gravel paths or simple trails - any adventure is achievable with these bikes. According to Cube, the weights are 13.8 and 15.2 kilos respectively.
The Nuroad Hybrid C:62 Race 400X and Nuroad Hybrid C:62 Race FE 400X models both offer the robust 12-speed Shimano GRX gravel groupset. In addition, the Nuroad Hybrid C:62 Race FE 400X is equipped with useful extras for the daily commute to work or weekend excursions with luggage. This makes exciting gravel tours at the weekend or in your free time possible without any problems. Weights according to Cube: 14.3 and 15.7 kilos.
