This guy is a phenomenon - Hans "No Way" Rey has been tearing up the trails for 30 years and his stunts have inspired generations of bikers for our sport. SQlab has dedicated a signature saddle to the Allstar - made in Germany. It is equipped with the miracle material Infinergy from BASF. Infinergy is designed to cushion particularly effectively and thus protect the spinal discs. Hans is happy about this, because the extreme biker has had to take a few knocks over the years. The special plateau shape distributes the pressure where it belongs: on the humps of the pelvis. The VIP saddle is available in 4 sizes. Weight: 284 grams. | Price: 199,95 Euro >> available here.

Steel spring shocks may respond a little more sensitively, but air shocks provide the most comfort on hard impacts! Plus: You can adjust them quickly, e.g. if the rucksack puts additional pressure on the suspension. This should be particularly easy on the Topaz with easy-to-use dials. "This is not Land of Backup. This is the Land of: You are on your own!" This is our favourite quote from the film "Wind River". In other words: if you're travelling in the mountains, you need to know how to help yourself. For example, with this bivouac sack. It protects your sleeping bag from rain and storms, your sleeping mat from rocks or your bare survival if you have to hide from the wind, cold and rain. "A good knife increases your chances of survival by 50 per cent!" That's what the survival pope Rüdiger Nehberg once said. Rüdiger must know, because he floated across the Atlantic on a tree trunk, for example, or was dropped from a helicopter in the Amazon wearing only swimming trunks and carrying a knife (he returned after 25 days!). The Free K2 won several tests because: good blade, tools and easy handling. | Price: 120 Euro >> available here.

Sleeping aid: Deuter Exosphere sleeping bag

Deuter ExospherePhoto: DeuterDeuter Exosphere

Always magical: a night under the stars! Prerequisite: a cosy sleeping bag. Down used to be the first choice because it was light and warm. Nowadays, modern synthetic fibres come close to the down feeling. For example, the Deuter Exosphere made from recycled plastic (!). It has all the important sleeping bag features, fits close to the body thanks to the stretch material and yet is not restrictive. We recommend the -6° model. Weight: 1300 g. | Price: 220 euros >> available here.
