The new GravelX comes as an aluminium version of the GravelX with carbon frame, which BH presented in 2023 as a clearly race-oriented gravel bike. The hydroformed frame made from triple-butted 7005 aluminium tubes is said to be torsion-resistant, robust and comparatively light. The design of the aluminium bike is clearly based on the carbon racer. In addition to the low-set rear stays, the line is characterised above all by the strikingly shaped fork, which is also used in the carbon bike and allows a maximum tyre width of 45 millimetres.
According to the manufacturer, the geometry of the Alu-GravelX has been developed "for long days on the bike", with the focus on comfort and riding stability. The wheelbase has been increased, the head tube extended and the top tube slightly sloped. Thanks to these measures, the bike should be comfortable and easy to control on all surfaces.
The frame and fork have several attachment points for accessories and bags, making the bike suitable for extended bikepacking adventures. It also has a universal UDH dropout. As with the carbon model, the cables on the aluminium racer are routed completely internally, giving the bike a modern and tidy appearance. The twelve-millimetre thru axles with hidden quick release are easy to handle without tools. Overall, the manufacturer BH sees the GravelX Alu as an ideal bike for everyday rides, commuting or sporty excursions.
BH Bikes is a traditional Spanish manufacturer that has been producing bicycles for more than 100 years. BH stands for Beistegui Hermanos; the three brothers Cosme, Domingo and Juan Beistegui founded the company in 1909, originally to manufacture weapons. After the First World War, however, the company turned to more peaceful products and began building bicycles.
