Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH is voluntarily recalling some bicycles and mudguard sets in co-operation with the national recall authorities.

Recall Bergamont Grandurance

The Grandurance RD and Sweep EQ bikes from the 2020, 2021 and 2022 model years are affected.

This is the reason for the recall

Bergamont is issuing this recall because the L-shaped bracket that attaches the front mudguard to the fork crown can break and the front mudguard can come loose as a result. This can lead to immediate loss of control of the bike and cause accidents with injuries.

The recall affects the following Bergamont Grandurance RD and Sweep EQ bike models as well as the mudguard sets listed here:

  • 275545 Grandurance RD 7
  • 275546 Grandurance RD 5

The bikes and mudguard sets mentioned above were sold in retail stores and online shops in Europe, Russia and India from June 2019 to the present day.

>> The recall does not affect bicycles sold in the USA, Canada or Australia.

Bergamont customers who are in possession of a recalled Bergamont Grandurance RD or Sweep EQ bike or the mentioned mudguard set are asked to stop using the bike or mudguard set immediately, take it to an authorised Bergamont dealer and have the mudguard bracket replaced free of charge.
