The AGO X is designed for everyday use as well as for relaxed weekend tours off the beaten track. According to the manufacturer, Tenways is already represented with its e-bikes in 17 European countries.
Previous Tenways models were driven by rear wheel motors combined with a Gates carbon belt.
With the AGO X, the manufacturer is taking a new approach and equipping the SUV e-bike with a Bafang M410 mid-motor and a 10-speed gear system from Shimano. The motor offers a maximum torque of 80 Nm, enough to transport heavy loads on the bike and tackle steep climbs.
Tenways describes the idea behind the AGO X as follows:
Harmonising everyday practicality with driving pleasure.
The pedelec is robustly built and compatible with a range of accessories. The Ago X is supplied as standard with a pannier rack that can carry a load of up to 25 kilos. Mudguards and a kickstand are also part of the standard equipment. The mudguards keep out water and dirt; the kickstand ensures that the bike can be parked anywhere. Puncture-proof 29-inch tyres from CST provide the necessary traction on various road surfaces and forest paths. There is also StVZO-compliant lighting. The front and rear lights are integrated into the frame.
In addition to the SR Suntour lockout fork, a saddle from Selle Royal and riser handlebars ensure a comfortable ride. The SUV e-bike is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano for control and to match the Shimano shifting group.
The removable battery with a capacity of 504 Wh is integrated into the down tube and lasts for up to 100 kilometres.
Tenways wants to offer affordable bikes to give as many people as possible access to e-bikes. The new SUV e-bike is available directly from the manufacturer's website for 2399 euros.
Tenways has impressed the MYBIKE testers in previous tests with its stylish, lightweight commuter e-bikes. Whether the Tenways Ago X can also take the lead in the SUV e-bike class will be revealed in an extensive practical and laboratory test in one of the next MYBIKE issues. The price is definitely a challenge in this segment.
SUV e-bikes are e-bikes that have been specially developed for off-road use, but also for everyday use. The term "SUV" (Sport Utility Vehicle) is based on off-road vehicles, which are considered to be particularly robust and versatile. An SUV e-bike is characterised by a stable design, wide tyres and a powerful motor that can also cope with inclines and difficult terrain.
